Biscuit is 8 months old and not fixed. I am unable to find a vet that will see her so I’m just kind of stuck.
Anyway... she woke up the other morning and had turned into Jerk skunk over night!!! She is pacing constantly. Hissing at everyone! Has bitten me and snapped at me a zillion times. This is all within the last 3 days. Could this be caused by her going into heat or what? Help!

Yes that behavior can be caused by going into heat. It is more common in heavy skunks and females housed near males though.

We do have a lot of outdoor skunks. She has gotten even worse since last night. She’s completely frantically pacing up and down the hallway and making the weirdest noises. It’s like a grunting sound. I keep taking her outside for walks and she’s content when she’s eating her mealworms but that’s about it and of coarse when she is sleeping. Besides that she frantic all the time. Any ideas of what it could be?

Yes, she is looking for a male to breed with. The problem with some female skunks is that when they go into heat and are not bred, they don't always come out of heat and can become anemic like ferrets. It doesn't happen all the time. Usually the females with the issue are overweight. The fact that she is in an area with males nearby is not in her favor.

This only happened once here years ago. The female went from being a loving pet to a tasmanian devil. Eventually she improved but was never as nice as she had been throughout her life.
